Surgeonxmas Bugs Hole

3185-3207

Since last week, the nomination dossiers for the Legion of Honor (1865-1930) for which we had reserved a special wording (Archivum LH) are online for letters A to C alone ( LH/3185 to 3207 , 23 cartons and 3.3 lm). The rest should follow in the months to come. This group, whose documentary Finding 120 pages (in its print version) is on the site of the NA to the following address is part of the payment made in 2002 of the Great Chancellor National Archives of hundreds of boxes of records of collective and individual proposals, letters of applications, folders, individual discipline, pensions and relief Legionnaires and their families, saved from the burning of the palace of Salm, the May 23, 1871 and since then kept at the Museum of the Legion of Honor. Wodey Laurence and his team (including Elodie Bourdeau, who had formerly worked as an intern in my office) had reported this in their payment history research guide of the Legion of Honor.

When classifying and inventory of that payment, begun in 2004 by Antony Belin under his DESS (Techniques Archives and Documentation, University of Haute Alsace, Mulhouse), and continued since 2007, it seemed appropriate, given the wealth of the fund, develop a directory listing, nominative files of proposals to the Legion of honor the National Archives (Paris) under the symbols LH/3185-3267.

This directory, now limited to letters A to C (LH/3185-3207) will be progressively updated as the progress of the review of files. The database from which it comes will eventually be paid out in full and complete Quidam Leonore (database accessible on the website of the National Archives, which lists all files legionaries and about 1802 died before 1954).

This research tool is natively in a typical database is a clever choice of fields allowed to edit a printable favoring the fields name, surname, date and place of birth, position, place activity, extreme dates, rating and number of parts. For this group

documentary (LH 3185 to 3207, letters A to C), we identified 1388 applications to the rank of knight and 25 applications to the rank of officer : ALDROVANDI (Nonce François), ARTUS (Émile Jules Henri), AURELLE de PALADINES (Yves Louis Sylvain d'), BALME du GARAY (Antoine Joseph André), BARAT (Jean), BASTIDE (Jean Mathieu), BAUDOU (Narcisse), BÉDART (Jean Baptiste François Alexandre), BERTHET (Honoré Marie Edmond), BÉZIER-LAFOSSE (Aristide Frédéric Hippolyte), BLANCHET (Henri), BLANCKAËRT (Léon), BOISSONADE de FONTARABIE (Gustave Émile), BONNEVILLE de MARSANGY (Louis Arnold), BOUËR (Daniel Jean), BOURGOING (Manfred Honoré Paul Alexis Camille de), BRAUN (Marie François Gaston), BUREAU (Louis Édouard), BURNOUF (Louis Émile), DECHARME (Jean Pierre Marie), DELINON (François Marie Gabriel), Delmotte, itching, Despaux, DUCLOS (Emile).

A list by type of activity complete listing in this directory and because of their high number, we excluded from this list all members (except the police). Here are the different types of activity identified: Prison - Ambulance - architect - architect - artist (painter, music, etc..) - Canteen - Trade - Conservative - Conservative mortgage - diplomat - Customs - ecclesiastical - Police - man of letters - business - nursing - engineer and inventor - Journalism - Mayor - Lifeguard - manufacturing - Ministry of Agriculture - Ministry of Education - Ministry of Interior - Department of the Navy - Department of Foreign Affairs - Department of Fine - Arts - Colonial Office - Department of Finance - Department of Public Works - Ministry of Trade - Labour Department - Parliamentary - collector Finance - Administrative Staff - Staffs - Navy personnel - health personnel - teachers - the judiciary - prefectural staff - Pharmacy - Police - Post and Telegraph - fireman - a member, etc..

This documentary group is freely reportable.

The wells 56 of the Rue des Francs-Bourgeois
(right when entering)

Between the hotels of Assy of Breteuil and Fontenay, right by entering 56 of the Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, noted this well (which extends to the basement) and its pulley still intact, which probably dates from the eighteenth century. Is it body building during construction? He was added later? What was it used? etc.. That

an investigation that might interest a student in art history (for his debut) or archival (research sources) and that would be an article in a journal or history of Paris Topographic search of old Paris. Sources abound: will begin its research in the notarial minutes Paris (construction contracts, sales, wills, probate inventories) of the National Archives.

documents the recording eighteenth century (record sales, estates) will be seeking revenge for AD in Paris (see the invaluable guide research in the fund's registration Ancien Regime Villar-Berrogain published in 1959).

Reference is also Subseries H2 (Office of the City of Paris. Generality of Quartermaster and Paris) and especially H2 2127-2213 (permissions to build, work, accounts of the city of Paris, 1536 -1796). Articles 948-1059 K say the "Monument" or KK 402-494 for accounts of the City of Paris until 1721). One should not neglect the subseries Z1J and clerks of the House of Buildings (including Z1J 256-1222 for minutes expertise of buildings), etc..

This mansion belonged to an individual prior to its acquisition by the NA; please see the archives of possessions in the series R (Papers of the princes), T (private papers fell into the public domain and seized from the emigrants at the time of the French Revolution) and of course private funds (AP and AB series XIX for all types of buildings or furniture, artists and architects, etc..) or private funds to architects who can cover all building types and also Series VA Department of Architecture th (payment plans in 1960 (all types of buildings).

In AD de Paris will be consulted with profit sub-series 4N (buildings and county buildings), 1Q (national domain, then the French Revolution), etc..
Finally, we will not neglect the general inventory of cultural heritage and the basis Palissy where I found only one record d a well (inscribed by order of 8.6.1975) at 13 Quai d'Anjou in the 4th arrondissement of Paris.

In combat Épernon October 4, 1870

known victims of the War of 14-18 (see Wikipedia article on ) mutilation of the face, commonly called the "Faces broken" but do we know that in 1870-1871?
....
" Tréon, February 25, 1906

At Mr. Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honor

undersigned Douin Pierre François Edmond, born August 23, 1848 at Luplanté (Eure-et-Loir) domiciled to Tréon, Canton of Dreux, have the honor of asking the Chancellery, the decoration of Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.

I think you have to explain that I was critically wounded in combat Épernon October 4, 1870;

1 with a bullet in his right shoulder,
2 of shrapnel that shattered my whole right side of the face breaking my jaw, nose and broke my right eye,
3 ° of another piece of shrapnel in the right hip (this outburst and had only the flesh of the right thigh don was not counted as an injury).

is fighting the rearguard action to protect the retirement of our soldiers that I was reached.

Despite my injury, I escaped to Chartres, I rejoined my battalion in Le Mans, it was the 4th battalion of the Garde Mobile Eure-et-Loir, I continued the campaign and I had two quotes to the agenda.

I must add that in five first cousins of my family who made the campaign of 1870-1871, three have died from their injuries and diseases contracted during the war.

I was awarded the Military Medal by the decree of 10 October 1871 (Registered No. 14699) and obtained an annuity for disability resulting from the campaign of 1870-1871.

I hope Mr. Lord Chancellor you will take serious consideration of my request the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor .
Sincerely,.

Signed: E. Douin "

This is the folder in LH/3212 (Douin Pierre-François-Edmond, soldier of the 4th Battalion, 2nd Company of the Garde Mobile Military Eure-et-Loir) of 33 parts of 1903 in 1914 (documents, correspondence, various recommendations including those of Gabriel Maurice Violette, deputy of Eure-et-Loir numerous reminders, two undated photographs, workshop C. Blin Chartres, etc..).

For the record, our Pierre François Edmond Douin will never cross, and through, he will request information on his sometimes fictitious Vital sometimes on his services (though his record is full of these pieces) but it is true that when the Grand Chancellor decides not to award the medal, and is generally the case for women (the canteen for the most part), then nothing is actually a 'no' until at the end ... until natural death of the applicant ...

Pajamas My Chemical Romance

Slumdog Millionaire

A great 2 hour movie! The story is simple: in the slums of Bombay, a Jamal Malik, 18, wara-chai (tea delivery boy) in a telephone services company, is about to win a staggering multi-million rupees on the Indian version of the show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" with Anil Kapoor in the role of local eddy, but forced by the police (!) to justify its right answers, he tells them about his street life, its family stories (begging with his brother Selim, meeting with Latika, the girl while another with whom he fell love and loses sight of running away from an orphanage in doubt). But how this young man is he reached the finals of a TV show? This is the thread of this exciting movie from beginning to end with players of great talent and very likeable, a torrid pace that reminds me of Sarnath Banerjee Calcutta with back and forth between past and present (children, game show, interrogation at the police) sometimes confusing but necessary, and above all great music (we're still in the land of Boollywood) ... all it gives a majestic movie not to miss!

Can I Subsitue Blueberries For Raisens

Museum of the History of France

View of the Hotel de Soubise (Museum of the History of France)
of Hotel d'Assy

Our Prince-President in his great kindness and wishing to strengthen the great idea (it is) of "national identity ", announced last Tuesday, January 13 its intention to create a museum of History of France (!) because (he says) "there is no place to question the history of France as a whole . "He asked us to choose a" symbolic place "for this place ...

But he knows only that Paris has no less than ... two museums of the history of France, one in Versailles and the other, the oldest, at the Hotel de Soubise . Certainly the latter museum is not currently labeled " museum of France" but the NA have been engaged for several years a project renovation and redesign this History Museum of France installed in the Hotel de Soubise since 1867 by Napoleon III (And it will be recalled in passing that this same hotel Soubise historical archives hosted by imperial decree of March 6, 1808: Do not miss our special exhibition Memoirs of future 250 original pieces for most never before shown, which is being held until June 15, 2009 and whose Mandrake, archivist, has praised in one of his posts - it reads just as valuable reflections and problems of exhibitions Heritage wrote ).

We would more tickets to chronicle the history of the Museum of History of France Hotel de Soubise, but right now I am busy with the exhibition on the Interim Revolutionary Courts (Court of Ten, criminal court and interim 17 August 1792) but I refer you to bet AE II 1-1444 (the old capital of the Museum - 1867) which gives a time series of the original documents (the Merovingians to 1795) that had been exposed to museum of the history of France and the National Archives Catalogue published by A. Maury in 1872 and prepared by the Marquis de Laborde (the father of this museum) in 1867 under the title Museum Archives of the Empire. Original documents in the history of France and autographs of famous men , etc..
To return to this "super" Museum of the History of France, including the announcement will be made probably by the end of 2010, I do not see how he could escape the Quad-Rohan Soubise, but this is how Price! Indeed, when the materials have left this site, it is highly likely that we will welcome the minutes of the notaries after 1935, and it will be well packaged, preserve, communicate! What place will the future archivists (we will not be there) to conduct Archival these tasks? Coexistence of this great museum with the National Archives is in my humble opinion to reconsider further before embarking on major projects, not including the amount thereof (I guess at least 50 million euros) ... all that in the name of "national identity" ... why not ... but ...

Meanwhile, again, for an idea of the Archives, go (quickly!) visit Memoirs of future ...

How Can I Shrink My North Face

BB/21

Until all the unions of the Ministry of Culture are the feet and hands to make things better access to the internet that potentes porcelain were blocked for unknown reasons (see our excessive materialism ) I present BB/21. This subset of the classification scheme is closely tied to its BB/22 cousins, and BB/23 BB/24 whose documents originate from the same office if at least one direction of the Department of Justice (ie the criminal affairs and pardons). But let us first BB/21. It is approximately 102 linear feet on 620 items. She freely communicable (inclusive dates are approximately from 1779 to 1885). She called BB/21 Graces granted.

Names producers : Department of Justice, Directorate of Criminal Affairs and Pardons.

producers History: In 1793
appears to the Department of Justice an Office correspondence in criminal and correctional courts with criminals. It is the origin of one of the oldest divisions of the Department of Justice. The right of grace, removed in 1791, was reinstated by Napoleon for the Senatus-consulte of 16 Thermidor Year X In 1809, pardons in criminal cases, which previously formed a separate division with civil graces, were separated from them and went into the remit of the criminal division. It took in 1814 the title of "Direction of Criminal Affairs and Pardons" (it is still present).

Conservation history :
Since the Restoration and until 1856 the office thanks to the Department of Justice had broken his personal files in several categories: pardons, graces policies, collective pardons, graces military graces rejected or not followed. This distribution was roughly preserved in the National Archives in successive payments from 1827 to 1941. From 1858, the various categories of records have been rendered to the department in a single suite. This merger was not met at the National Archives for records and rehabilitation files clemency for convicted death that have continued to form separate groups. Since the year XI, records receive a registration number to their opening to the Department of Justice. But within the different categories of records, methods of classification are different: either chronologically (by date of decision) or alphabetical (by order of names of convicted), or by appellate court and by department or Finally, digital (in order of registration). In addition, the records have suffered severe yards in the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, with the exception of records relating to convicts joint commissions of 1852 (BB/22/131/1 to 189, BB/30/463 to 479) and those for the insurgents of the Commune of 1871 (BB/24/727 to 871). The period from 1886 to 1916 is woefully incomplete.

Presentation of content:
Subseries consists of three main groups of items:
  1. the first group, BB/21/1 to 169, consists largely of the papers of the Privy Council and involves both requests for pardons as those that were rejected or not acted upon (the Privy Council, created by the senatus-consulte of 16 Thermidor Year X for review clemency, ceased operations at the end of the Empire).
  2. the second group, BB/21/172 to 634, is composed entirely of records of pardons.
  3. the third group, BB/21/651 to 1012, includes the rehabilitation.
Additional sources:
Other parts of the same fund: National Archives (Paris): BB/22, 23, 24 and 28.
From 1917, cases of clemency shall be kept at the NA of Fontainebleau and are listed in numerical order (they have been subject to any yard! It remains for future work of archivists).

Summary Statement:

BB/21/1 to 61. Meetings of the Privy Council for clemency of the year XI to 1813. 1779-1817.
BB/21/62 . Pardons for deserters and prisoners of war and escaped convicts. 1806-1812.

Find Glory Holes In Orlando

Materialism excessive harm

I'm less and less able to publish this year because after the financial crisis and the economic crisis here is the moral crisis and the return of the police state at all levels. Internet access presenting "risks" are denied for the entire staff of the Ministry of Culture and Communication (but tell me how to access blogspot " pose risks"?).

This filtering (type flicage) established uses a directory that references the Web sites and classifies them into categories (categories "Government Sites" and "arts / culture, etc..). The choice of these categories is made by an automatic software vendor (so stupid). The department can correct these choices, however, if specific requirements but they must ask for each site! The categories are not accessible (pornography, sex and eroticism, illegal activities (eg hacking), dating sites, chat, racism, gambling, casino, lottery ...) ... but I never consulted such site.

Any attempt connections to these sites "forbidden" by Internet access to a workstation is denied. But in order to rationalize the use of computing resources, while allowing for occasional use as an individual, it is put in place a policy of restricting access during normal working hours, between 9:00 and 12:00 and between 14.00 and 17.45. In these times only consultation service to useful sites will be open outside these hours the consultation will be open more widely. But if we believe that the site is necessary for us in our work, we can always create an application using our ID indicating the address to allow ...

For now access to my blogspot is permitted (except for images that do not publish), but for how long!

Now I am a fervent anti-consumer or anticonsumériste, and I refuse to subscribe to Internet at home. I have always opposed the excessive materialism because it is unhealthy and leads inexorably to an immoral lifestyle. Some women find me "stingy", which is exaggerated. But I refuse all branded products or excessively disproportionate to the daily needs. I buy (yes, yes, I buy anyway!) As of goods "necessary" for the lives of all day and not those who are not and I refuse to identify with people having the same identical consumption worldwide. So no internet at home, and if I can not publish the department so I will not publish more. This is hardly dramatic ...

Ways To Fight Off A Chest Infection

fire

read story in Deschamps LH/3211 :

" Paris November 6, 1872
Mr. Secretary General [of the Legion of Honour]

I beg your pardon for writing you these few lines.

Sir, since 1862 a record in your office is designed to get me to the cross of the Legion of Honor. The record consists of evidence of conduct that I held in 1848 to try to save the unhappy general of Brea and the officers who accompanied him. I just beg you Sir to be good enough to do research [s] to me whether sadly my file has disappeared in the infamous fire [s] [the named Deschamps do not like the "s "it seems ...] of the Paris Commune. By doing so you render me a service that will be my eternal gratitude [the] [... he does not like the kind of agreements]. Awaiting your response, I have the honor to be Sir, your most devoted and obedient servant .

Deschamps, owner, former sergeant in the National Guard on horseback Gentilly Avenue d'Italie 150, formerly Route de Fontainebleau, No. 122 bis .

We do not really know what our wishes Deschamps, the Legion of Honor and then the confirmation that his file was destroyed by "infamous" fires the village ... and when in doubt he was told Jan. 27, 1873 (one minute of the notice is preserved): "Mr. Deschamps answered that all its parts were destroyed in the fire at the Palace " .

Fire is decidedly ruthless ...

What Kind Of Doctor For Ingrown Hair

BB/20

From Danis

documents BB/20 account reviews courses of foundation between 1824 and 1865 (there are only residue reports before and after those dates) are 28.60 linear feet. This subseries comprises 301 articles, documents come mainly from the Department of Justice and more specifically the first office of the Criminal Division and Pardons. I started by classifying, and bring order to publish a research tool BB/20 upon my assignment to the section of the nineteenth century (it was then called the "modern section).

History Producers :
In 1793, the Department of Justice realized a division of correspondence and criminal misdemeanors. It remained unchanged at the time Commission on civil administration, police and courts (an II-year IV). In recreating the Department of Justice Brumaire Year IV, figure an office of criminal courts, while the police-office is attached to the civil courts. At that time, the distinction between civil, criminal and correctional was not rigorously determined. From the year XI, the Criminal Division was reconstituted with two offices, one criminal, one for corrections. However, Vendémiaire XII 5 Thermidor An XII, the powers of the criminal division were distributed either by subject, but geographically by department with an office in North and South office. By the end of the year XII, the division found a division between, on one hand, criminal cases and, secondly, the corrections, it should keep until June 1822.
Under the Restoration, the criminal division took the title of "Direction of Criminal Affairs and Pardons" that it has retained to this day, except from 1830 to 1837 where she continued for a few years the title of "division". Since 1827, she was also in charge of drafting the General Account of the administration of justice criminal, from the numerous tables and statistical reports submitted by the attorneys general.

Conservation history :
items paid in 1848, 1866, 1877, 1884, 1887 and April-May 1941, mainly from the 1st Bureau of Criminal Division, where they were kept as Exhibit A4. However, in previous articles in this subseries BB/20 also meet records belonging to subdivision D (Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice) and E (Supreme Court) of the Department (given the similarity of the objects they refer, we did not find it useful to classify in other sub-series). Only a few sets for the periods prior to 1821 to 1865 and later escaped the destruction made by the Department of Justice.

Presentation of content:
With the exception of the set BB/20/1/2, where printed materials (extracts of sentences imposed by the Assize Court of Caen in 1823), records of Subseries BB/20 (16 to 283) are only formed by the reports made to the Criminal Division by advisors foundation presidents from 1821 to 1865 (sorted by year and within each year by court). For periods before and after the fact remains that most of the residues (BB/20/2, 284 to 296). The dozen bundles from the payment made in April-May 1941 and rated at 293 BB/20/284 can be regarded as forming the result of reports made to the Criminal Division by the presidents of foundations after 1865, mainly between the years 1879 and 1895. But these reports are important shortcomings.

Basketball Open Gym Ottawa Saturday

A consignment very interested

(the kind of drawing that Mr. Delanquine sends
on January 24, 1912 at the Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honour)

Usually we send greeting at the beginning of the year. Our Alphonse Joseph Bartholomew Delanquine ( proposal file Legion in honor of LH/3209 ) sends, meanwhile, rolls of ... sheets of drawings of French and foreign weapons carried by him on formal models of the War Department . So while a program!

He was born August 24, 1831 at Collioure (now Pyrénées-Atlantiques) and is then Beuville in Calvados, first deputy officer and captain of the Customs, he requested July 9, 1896 the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor in ending his letter with " full confidence in your generous solicitude for the former officers who have stopped walk in the path of honor and duty. Please , etc... " He must read these requests! the style is of another time!.

Overall (read our the firemen's ball) is told by a pre-printed form that "the application will be submitted commission , etc.." And so on until 1908 (five negative responses from 14/12/1897, 22/12/1898, 29/12/1902, 17/01/1905 and 06/08/1908 on the grounds that the recommendation is inadequate, it has been any proposal during his career, there is a large number of competitors, etc..), we made brief wait ...

But as always in such cases, the petitioners throw their last cartridges and send everything he owns (certificates, various documents, etc.).

Here the January 24, 1912 our Delanquine wrote to General Florentin, Grand Chancellor:

"My General I have the honor to inform you that a lot of rummaging through papers familiar, I found a roll of nine sheets of drawings of French arms and foreign executed by me on formal models of ministry of War during my secondment to the Gunnery School in Vincennes [be] 1852 and 1853 where I served as private secretary to Lieutenant-Colonel Regard ... [good already, this act is reprehensible and could be considered an act of espionage, but our Delanquine not care it seems, anything that interests him is seeing his medal ... more ...]

These drawings were the private collection etc..

(...) I thought they would for the lieutenant Florentin, your son, Officer a bright future [we took the opportunity to shine a boot until the other], which I take the liberty to do homage, a retrospective element to facilitate comparisons instructive. [Plain it sends sheets of drawings of firearms].

If this package is not approved, I would appreciate your kindly do destroy (...) [Bin, see ...].

[comes the time of application concerned]

(...) calling me from my relationship with the late Paul Deves who was Minister of Agriculture and Justice, I have come to call your kind solicitude to help me in the work of realization of my most ardent aspirations [that wear the Legion of Honour of course!] because c 'is your support that I only put my last hope [... another bunch so].

Accept, etc... "

A simple note on the record 'statement has completed [plain, no medal]. Not easy

the presents at the time and very difficult to obtain and wear the rosette In this time!
